Aesthetic PRP Q & A

What is aesthetic PRP?
Aesthetic PRP contains platelet-rich plasma from your own blood. It stimulates new cell growth and rejuvenates your skin or hair to help you look younger without surgery or downtime. Aesthetic PRP contains platelets that naturally revitalize treated tissues.

Your specialist could inject PRP into targeted areas of your skin or apply PRP to the skin along with microneedling to enhance anti-aging results.

What are the benefits of aesthetic PRP treatment?
The many benefits you can expect when choosing aesthetic PRP at MiraMe Health include:

  • Plumper, hydrated, healthier skin
  • Reduced lines and wrinkles
  • Smoother, refreshed skin
  • Younger-looking appearance
  • Increased collagen and elastin production
  • Improved self-confidence

Aesthetic PRP revitalizes your scalp, face, neck, hands, and other areas. Its base price is $300 per treatment at MiraMe Health. PRP with microneedling starts at $450 per treatment.

Is aesthetic PRP right for me?
To find out if you’re a candidate for aesthetic PRP at MiraMe Health, highly trained specialists discuss your medical history and beauty goals. They examine areas of your scalp, face, or body that you’re concerned about before tailoring a cosmetic treatment that’s best for you.

What should I expect during an aesthetic PRP treatment?
During the first step of aesthetic PRP treatment, your provider takes a blood sample from a vein in your arm. They spin the sample in a centrifuge to separate the PRP from the rest of the blood and obtain a more concentrated sample of platelets.

Providers then inject aesthetic PRP into your scalp for hair restoration or your skin to give it a healthy glow. Specialists can combine PRP with microneedling, a cosmetic treatment that makes tiny tears in the skin to stimulate collagen and elastin production naturally.

Collagen and elastin are proteins that provide young skin with plumpness and elasticity. The production of these proteins falls off as you age, causing your skin to become lined and wrinkled.

What happens after an aesthetic PRP procedure?
After aesthetic PRP treatment, you can expect swelling, tenderness, or redness at the injection sites. These side effects usually don’t last very long. As the treated tissues generate new cells, you can expect younger-looking skin or a fuller head of hair.

The MiraMe Health team often recommends a series of aesthetic PRP treatments to offer the highly effective, long-lasting results you’re looking for.

What is PRF?
Platelet Rich Fibrin is the next-generation PRP. It is the derivative of blood centrifuged at a low speed separating the blood into layers that are not as distinct as with PRP. This allows some of the white cells, growth factors, and stem cells, along with the platelets, to be collected from a tube that has no anticoagulant additive. It is these additional elements that make PRF a much more desired product when used in skin care treatments.

PRP is still a very powerful product, and will definitely help with reducing fine lines, wrinkles, and acne scarring, but it may take more treatments to achieve the desired results. However, since the PRP is collected in a tube containing an anticoagulant it does allow for a lot more leeway in the time we have to inject or microneedle it into the skin.

PRF on the other hand, has only 15 minutes from the time of draw to use because it is collected in a tube without anticoagulant.

What is the Difference Between PRP and PRF?
Turn back the clock with your own healing serum.

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) and Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF) are both autologous platelet concentrates prepared from the patient’s own blood which becomes the body’s own healing serum.
The properties found in PRP and PRF make them superior products compared to man-made products for uses in skin care procedures such as microneedling and injections. By drawing a patient’s blood and using their own plasma for these treatments, we are utilizing the purest and most natural form of growth factors possible, giving exceptional results treating anti-aging, acne scarring, skin tone, and texture.
